Very interesting. Seems along the same order as the Wankle rotary engine. Looks like an overgrown a/c compressor.....

I like the fact that there is continued interest in New types of engines. Maybe the materials at hand now can accommodate these types of stresses, where as, 20 years ago, there weren't the processes of foundry that are available today. I'm excited to see how far they take it.
Most of the energy that is produced by an internal combustion engine, is both blown out the exhaust as unburned fuel and heat. If it where possible to harness and make use of those wastes, you'd really have something there!

There is a Fiero that harnesses that wasted energy.  See the Smokey Yunick article in Fiero Documents.

I read that article. Super cool!  Wood works in the same way.....heat it and burn the vapors. The concept is simple, but the application is very difficult. I think the first Harley designs utilized a simple version of Smokey's design...they simply poured fuel onto a heated plate and the intake drew in vapors from it along with air. Now days, with complex metering systems,  i wonder why Smokey's hadn't been tweaked and attempted again.
