The spotlight articles have been every 4th month. Usually, they are ready several months in advance. Sometimes, I have several, and just keep working on them until they are ready. In the case of yours, I had one ready to go, and was not up for the additional time to start fresh with another one, in time to have it ready for April. To have swapped the member spotlight for April would have meant changing the front page, among other things.
The newsletters, as made public, are the culmination of months of work. There are articles that have been in progress for more than 1 year, and have not yet been published. The belt tensioner article, for example, was written 2 months ago. The grandiose ideas for the July front page were from a year ago, but what you saw were the limits of my abilities to implement those ideas. The May front page sat out there for more than a year. The March front page sat out there for about 6 months. Other front pages were finalized the month the newsletter was published.
Trinten's spotlight was actually scheduled for August (actually, his spotlight was already in place, ready to go), but was bumped to December. That was a re-work, but was fair to GrannyLinda, because she was never going to submit a spotlight of her own.
This may come as a surprise, but the newsletter is not a strength of mine. It was something I could do for the club, so no one could fairly claim that I was not contributing. Actually, it surprised me when it came up in conversation that someone thought I did this elsewhere for a living.
