Left low beam doesn't work.

The left low beam in my yellow car has quit working, and it isn't the bulb. The Helms manual doesn't show any fuse or fuse-able link that would account for this. If I've missed something, please let me know. I'm assuming bad wiring or socket for now.

Aren't the low beams wired in parallel (bridged together)? I'm thinking a bad socket, or maybe a broken wire between the left and right side - assuming that the right side is fed first, then across the car to the left.

Saturday morning when we were headed to Dublin, the low beam was out.  Later Roger switched to high beams and the headlight was a very weak yellow.  I think it later went out completely.  Sometimes when you install higher amperage lights, it will burn out the light switch.

Yes, the bulb that was in the car during the parade burned out (the glass had a crack, and it was foggy inside). (I have after-market lights that use H4 bulbs.) So I replaced it with a good one, and that's when I found that the low beam didn't work. Another new bulb -- same result. Both right and left low beams come from the same place, so the switch is OK.
I'll check the wiring and socket tomorrow.

The high and low beam on a given light have a common ground so the problem may be in the positive lead for low.  Are there any relays?  Put a meter on the harness plugs and see if you have power.  Could be a bad harness end.

The problem was the socket. I measured it with a meter, and got voltage. So I pushed it slowly onto a bulb, and it lit, but when I pushed it all the way on, the bulb went out again. So I bent the pins of the bulb a little, and it stays lit now. But I think I'll get a new socket.

You might try "re-tensioning" the contact. Or maybe spraying some electronic cleaner into it, and some fresh grease.
