Guage Sending Unit
« on: June 24, 2014, 07:15:29 am »
A note to let you know that this particuler sending unit is not called a temp. sensor. At Auto  Zone it is listed as a Switch  I went to pick one up for the 88 we are working on, could not find it, until a senior employee typed in switch wala there it was, you might run into this problem at Advance  but I have not checked into that as yet!! aerodon.

AutoZone and Advance also calls the Intake Air Temperature sensor that fits in the filter canister, an Air Charge Temperature Sensor.
Advance calls the gauge sending unit an Engine Coolant Temperature Sender.  BWD Part # WT414T  The same switch made by Wells is called a Vehicle Electronics Temperature Sending Unit.  Part # TU157.

AutoZone is also the only franchise parts store I know of where you can get a new VSS sensor for the manual transmission.  It doesn't come with a gear, though.
