You don't ride in the Jeep with Beetle?

Starting the New Year southern style.  Having the kids over for dinner.  I'm making fresh collard greens, blackeyed peas and homemade cornbread.  Buttermilk on the side for those who desire, or sweet tea for those who don't.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

No not Beetle, but I have been riding shotgun with Fierofool for the past 2 1/2 years so its time to spread my Pegasus wings and go on my own.

Sorry.  Couldn't resist.  Of course, it'll be good to have your Fiero on the road.

Will you get your Fiero back on the road before I get mine back on the road?

Here's to a success!

What are the other swap options?
...

Thank you.

LFX 3.6 DOHC with a Quad 4 Getrag.
320 HP, stock, but really way more complex than I'm prepared to tackle. (Mender, on Pennocks, is doing something similar, but I don't have his fabrication skills.)

2.4 Ecotec with F23. Only (maybe) 200 HP with bolt-ons. Still requires some fabrication, but a stand-alone ECM is available.

LZ9 is 240 HP, right out of the box, and will almost bolt in, with stock Fiero parts.

What would it take for you to be able to accomplish one of the above swaps?  Time?  Motivation?  Money?  Space?  Availability of parts?

Oh, and keep in mind I'm still rooting for the SD4.

Mostly, time.
Time, space, and motivation are in short supply. (Lots of stuff going on at work. Don't really feel like taking on a new project, until I see what the cretins and bean counters have in store.)

We were talking about moving to west GA (where I'd have room to build a shop) but that's kind of on hold, for the interim. (Don't really have the money to do that, either.)  I really wanted to wait until we got moved, to start a swap.

SD4 isn't likely to happen, unless I find an iron block and head SD4 engine. They seem to be even more uncommon than the aluminum stuff.
I really should have kept the engine that was in the Automoda, but that would have meant selling the car as a "roller", swapping something else in (which I didn't feel like doing) or parting it out. (Heresy on many levels.)

Meanwhile, the Duke in the coupe runs just fine, for now. So I'm not in a huge hurry.
