Happy belated Merry Christmas!

I'm trying to install keyless entry (Bulldog Model KE1702) on my 1987 Fiero, which already has power door locks. 

The kit has:
    * terrible directions,
    * a big Main Control Module (as they call it),
    * a 14-Pin Wire Harness with 13 very long wires, and
    * 2 remotes. 

My Fiero has on the passenger side:
    * About 7 wires coming from the door
    * About 7 wires coming from under the dash
    * A meeting point where the wires connect that will look a lot like the pictures I'm hoping to upload.

My question is, am I suppose to splice the ~7 wires coming from the door and the ~7 wires coming from under the dash with the 13 wires in the 14 pin connector?  If so, can I say, "Yikes!"

If my splicing guess is correct, then is there anything made that will take the wires as they exist on the Fiero:
    * Allow me to disconnect them,
    * Then reconnect in such a way that I can plug into the Main Control Module without having to do a bunch of splicing?

How much are they? I wouldn't mind having one on mine. I installed a remote starting system on my wife's van. Now if it's cold outside it will crank up and if you set the defrost the night before it will defrost the windshield.

I put keyless entries on two of my Fieros, but it's been a while, and I don't remember where everything is. But there is a door lock relay assembly somewhere under the dash that you will probably need to connect to. If your control module puts out a positive pulse on two wires -- one to lock, and one to unlock, you just connect these wires to the appropriate places on the door lock relay assembly. If it only has one wire, with positive for one action and negative for the other, you will need to add a relay of your own to the system (but I don't think that method is common).
A good place for the control module is under the radio. If you remove the center console surround, you will see that there is space under the radio for the unit.
Edit: The correct place to connect the wires from the control module (if two lock wires) is the blue wire on the relay assembly for lock, and the black wire for unlock.
Here is a diagram from the factory service manual that should help.

if it where my project, I would go to the junk yard, find a gm of simular vintage to" borrow" a connector from, then create a plug n' play harness so you don't cut into yours....  I can help you with it if you'd like.

Since only later model cars will have remote entry, it may not be plug & play.
One of my cars that I put keyless entry into did not have power locks, so I had to do every thing myself, including lock actuators, relays, and all wiring. It really wasn't that hard to do, though.

I have keyless entry!

Worked with a guy who had done it before.  When we were testing the lock-feature by pulling up the drivers side (outside) handle, the handle broke off.  Had to find new nuts to put it back on.

BTW, he has a '91(?) MR2.  Since it's mid-engine I invited him to the next CSRA Fiero Club meeting.

good job! Hopefully you remembered what you did so you can show me how to do it TOO! It's REALLY hard to look cool at 40yrs old, hunched over,trying to get the key inn the door......much less just the fact of unlocking the door,using a key, feels sooooooo awkward anyway..

Fortunately, the Fiero is tall, and pgackerman is short, so no stooping.  Right.  Stooping to unlock the door is not my favorite part of Fiero ownership.  I am almost certain that unlocking with the key requires a greater stoop than lifting the handle.

Lifting the handle and sitting in the car can be achieved in a single, smooth motion.  It's almost zen-yoga like. 

Turning a key at the same time requires master level skills to avoid showing the area around your underpants.
