Gas filler tube
« on: December 20, 2018, 12:41:19 pm »
Does any one have a picture of the top of the fuel tank.  Seems when I got gas today and filled it up it is leaking gas, suspect fuel hose since tank has been worked on

If the gas was running out while the car was sitting still, it won't be at the top.  It's near impossible to fill it all the way to the seal where the sending unit installs.  It's more likely one of the two hoses that comes off the back of the tank.  One is the main filler hose and the other is a smaller hose that runs back up to the filler tube.

In the link below, scroll down to the last two pictures that show the fuel tank and you can see the hoses.  We had that problem when we replaced the tank on the Formula Fastback.

Thanks    Thats what I needed to know.  Now just have to get to it.  I'm thinking one of the ends is off.

I wonder if the rubber hose that connects from the fill tube to the tank is leaking.  That is a common source of leaks.
