Light Switch Cables 88
« on: February 01, 2019, 10:51:37 am »
Need some guidance please.
PO obviously didn't like the way the lights on the Fiero worked (right switch for running lights, left switch for main lights), so he hacked it together so that no matter if left or right is pressed, everything comes on.
Here a pic of the wiring:

As you can see
A=Orange
B=Empty
C=Red
D=Yellow??
E=Grey
F=White
Can't find a cut cable in the dash, so which wire goes to terminal/connector "B"?
I'd like to have it original again.

Thanks

That yellow wire doesn't look so good.

Well, if terminal "B" is intentionally blank, I have no idea where he (PO) shorted the light system to make everything come on, regardless of which switch you push.
Any ideas?

Thnx,

If there are no wiring oddities in the front, there may be a bad ground.   Hmm.  How do the fusible links look?

You did post that you had replaced the headlight switch, right?

It would seem that you could connect the power and ground for the headlights manually, to see if the parking lights come on;or, you could remove the wire for the parking lights from the connector, just for testing.

Grounds are good, as far as I can tell. How do I test fusible links, besides continuity?

Yes, new light switch.

I'll give your suggestion a try tomorrow.

For the fusible links, I was wondering if someone had wired them together.  Barring that, sometimes a bad splice.
