my car developed a leak like that, it was the fill and vent hoses. apparently they had dryrotted after years of being exposed to gas.

I doubt that is the problem since the hoses are fairly new, less than a year

The fuel pump install is covered parts and labor under my nationwide warranty. If you are more than 25 miles from my shop the warranty company will tell you where to take it. If less than 25 miles it comes back to me.

Wrong size "O" ring came with the pump.  It was to small

I used the O ring that came with the new pump and it was just a bit too small. You would only notice it if you compared it to an AC Delco part. Luckily I had an Ac Delco pump here for my supercharged car and used it. FieroFool had an extra to replace that one.

I put in the new o ring and put 2 gallons of fuel in the tank and turned it upside down over a metal trash can overnight to make sure that O ring didn't leak.

Interesting.  Good to know.

Was that the TFS fuel pump?

For future reference, I wonder if the o-ring is available separately.

The fuel pump was a Spectra Premium purchased at WorldPac.

22515965 is the AC Delco part number for the O ring.
