EGR mount block
« on: July 01, 2019, 06:08:26 pm »
The heat-coated EGR mount block from TFS has been causing me to have issues with blown gaskets.  Following up with them, no one else had reported this issue.  Finally, the coating was removed at the bottom, which exposed the problem.  There was some gasket left.  Sanding the bottom flat was fine, but not getting a solid surface.  As the block heat cycled, it basically provided the same result as stacking multiple gaskets together.

The heat-coated block does look far nicer than a rusty one.  I had cleaned up and painted my stock block, but it rusted again in a few thousand miles.
