Fierofool relative?
« on: November 25, 2015, 01:32:41 pm »
This morning on the way to work, I saw a dark gray metallic Lexus ES350 with a Texas license plate, and the word "Sewell" in stick-on letters on the license plate frame.

The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

It might be.  Melanie has found Sewells out there while doing genealogy research on my family.  One recently contacted her on Ancestry, wanting a picture of my paternal grandmother because that was her great aunt.  I think that lady was from Texas.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I don't know of any from down there.  The Sewell family that owned Sewell Plastics that made all the Coke bottles live out in the Mableton Thornton Road area. Ask Thomas if he has relatives from the North Georgia area.

I'm surprised I haven't run across any Sewells out here. That's very close to me.
I'll ask him. Actually, I think I did. Seems like he didn't know of any.

Most of those are known relatives.  My dad and his family are from the Yellow Creek Community area of Dawson/Cherokee Counties.  My dad and most of his siblings were born in Dawson County before the county line was moved and it became part of Cherokee County.  My Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother and other family members are buried at Mt. Vernon Church on Kelly Bridge.  One Great Uncle was Pastor at Hightower Church and there's a Sewell Cemetery on Pisgah Road and unknown numbers are buried at Pisgah Church Cemetery, where the family name is still prominent in the church.
