Front Caliper Replacements

Use the front calipers from a 83-94 S-10 Blazer 4X4. They are not a direct bolt up and cost $15.00 each plus $15.00 core charge.
Car Quest Part # 18-4129 (Left Caliper)
Car Quest Part # 18-4128 (Right Caliper)

Normally, those are the calipers recommended if you are doing the LeBaron brake upgrade. Are you saying that they are a direct bolt-up if you are not doing the upgrade? For the upgrade, you need adapters.
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Do these fit all year Fieros, 84-87, or just 88's.

I got the info of Pennocks. They said it was a direct bolt up, it's not, but I'll check it out first on one of mine. It's getting hard to get Fiero parts without paying a small fortune, so I'm looking for more popular parts that will work.

On the subject of brakes.

Does anyone know what determined if a fiero got fixed or floating calipers? I've seen both on them.

The gold 86 I just sold had 3 floating and 1 fixed  ;D  Of course the fixed one was stuck and had burned up the brakes and rotor.

Seriously though, doesn't the floating need 2 pistons in order to make both brake pads come into equal contact with the rotor?  Single piston calipers need to float so that the pressure from one side pulls the shoe from the other side against the rotor.

I can remember as far back as my last meal.  Anything before that is a bit foggy.
