the black trim will line up?

Yes, the black trim of all years will line up when body panes are intermixed.

All the fasteners are the same.  The eggcrate underneath should be the same.  There might be a couple of metal braces that are different, but should bolt on without mods.

The bumperpad eggcrate will be shaped differently from the 87-88 eggcrate.
Also, the bumperpad nose will have grooved trim, while the 87-88 will have smooth trim.

There were actually two aero (GT style) bumpers. One for smooth trim cars (86-87-88 GT) and one for grooved trim cars. (84 Indy, 85 GT, 86-87 SE.)
I believe the grooved-trim aero bumper has a piece of grooved trim molded in between the marker light and wheel opening, where the smooth trim just has a flat piece of plastic. (The smooth trim section between the light and the wheel opening is actually part of the light assembly.)

And yeah... the only bumperpad car to also have a V6 is the 85 SE / 2M6. (Some people compare it to the Formula.)

Why are you looking for a bumper pad V6 car? The 85 2m4 you found is the same front bumper pad as the others if that's all you want from it.

There is a bumper pad Fiero out near Jefferson.  It has been taken in but not put out on the yard yet.  My niece will notify us when it goes to the lot.  It's in very very rough condition and I don't know if the front or rear bumper pads are worth using.  It might be that you could pull the egg crate and any supporting structure from it.

I'll send you a picture of it in your email.

Well I was thinking about keeping the 88 stock but getting the 85 v6 bumper pad version Fiero.

In our listing of what cars had what bumper pad fascias, we omitted the 86 Sport.  It was identical to the 85SE and also was available with a V6.  I googled 86 Fiero Sport and found a few images of them, so they do or did exist.

In all my years, I don't recall ever having seen an 86 bumperpad.  Maybe I did but didn't know it was an 86.  Pontiac usually offered 3 trim levels in every year.  It stands to reason they wouldn't only offer the SE and GT in 86, though the 86SE was available in full aero trim with either a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.
