I was inspecting my new alternator mount, and found a bolt out slightly. Tried turning it, and no resistance. So I pulled it out, and found this:
It's snapped into right where the threaded part starts. This bolt goes through part of the alternator case, through the little metal tube at the top of the mount (see the picture below), and into the engine block.
In order to investigate this, I'll have to take out the alternator and it's mount, and in order to do that, I'll have to take out the tensioner/dog bone mount. In other words, everything has to come out. The bolt wasn't tight enough to account for the break, so i have to figure out why it broke.
So I uncovered my yellow Fiero and charged its battery. The white one isn't going anywhere for a while.
