Club Member Ron Robinson In Accident
« on: July 16, 2024, 08:55:02 am »
I just picked this up from Susan Robinson's Facebook Page.

Monday, July 15, Ron was in an accident.  Quote from Susan's post:

Yesterday evening he was riding his ZRX1100 to a local pet store and had a car turn left on top of him
He suffered three broken ribs, a partial lung collapse and his entire right side is bruised and has some swelling on his right leg.  He was transferred to the Trauma part of Huntsville Hospital and will be here possibly all week.

End quote.

Ron and Susan, my prayers go out for both of you.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Sounds like he will pull through, could have been much worse but terrible in any case.  I've had several close calls and did get hit once in my 20's, not that bad, but it changes you and the way you enjoy motorcycles.   My uncle walks with a limp from a low speed event 30+ years ago where a car clipped his front wheel and tipped the heavy bike over on his ankle.  My mother thusly always hated motorcycles, but my dad had one when I was a kid in the early 70's and I have had a lot over the years but none now as Atlanta is no place to be on a bike.  Hope for a full recovery.

I spoke with him this morning.  He says he's lucky that he doesn't have a broken leg or arm.  He was pinned between the bike and car at the time of impact.

He hasn't seen the PD report and doesn't know if the motorist stayed or took off or if anyone was charged.  He seems in good spirits and he's able to walk down the hallway to get a good phone signal to talk with me.  Said it just hurts to cough.

Prayers for Ron and for his fast recovery.
You can't fix stupid but, you can adjust it with a 2x4.

Thank you all. Im doing good . Staying at our country home here in Kenansville NC. Had a set back with an infection, but have it under control now. Ribs and shoulder blade are healing slowly as to be expected. I will endeavor to keep everyone posted on improvements.

Saw the bone doc yesterday. He was very surprised by the range of movement in my right arm . Needless to say , Ive been working the arm hard for the last 2 weeks. Cant pick up alot yet, but its coming along nicely. I start pt next week on the leg. Got to get it back into shape. Now, if I could just get some sleep at night.

I'd suggest that you take "Delta 8 THC gummies". I take a half of one at night, and sleep quite well. (And not worth a flip, when I forget.)
They're quite legal in most places, but unfortunately, they'll likely make you fail a whiz quiz.

A Benadryl tablet an hour before bedtime can help you sleep, too.  The best sleep aid is to sleep in the recliner so you don't have to share the bed with the dogs.😉

I have started PT . The knee is going to be the slow one to heal.
