Re-Run For The Hills
« on: May 10, 2009, 09:30:45 am »
There will be a Re-Run For The Hills on May 30.  We're going back to re-run last year's event.  This will be a one day event, on Saturday only.  A little less structured than our yearly event, so we can take our time.  If you've never been on one of these runs, come on out and get hooked.

We will start the run from Clayton, Georgia
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I'm happy to hear that so many are going!

Unfortunately, Tam's club has a dog agility event scheduled for that weekend.
Guess who gets to pull the equipment trailer, and build courses all weekend. :-\

Only 4 are Fieros.  It'd sure be nice to see some Fieros at a Fiero event.

Plan to be at the Burger King in Clayton by 9:30 for a drivers meeting.  Me, Kevin, Ray and Peter are leaving my house about 7 and should be in Gainesville about 7:30-7:45.  Unless someone wants to hook up there, we're going to hit 985 and keep on booking.  I think Don will be meeting us at the QT on Exit 16, Mundy Mill/Oakwood exit.  We'll be out of there by 8.

I'll bring maps for the Fiero folks who tell me they're going.  The Kappa Club are printing their own.

The weather was perfect.  The traffic wasn't too bad.  Not too many slow vehicles, and the one's we did come across usually pulled off first chance they had.  No wrecks.  No spin outs.  No breakdowns.  Nobody ran out of gas.  No tickets.  So all in all, I'd call it a successful event.  We even saw a Ferrari in Highlands.

Gathering before the run

Starting out

There was a lot more water in Bridal Veil Falls this time.

Because the weather was nice, most of us had our t-tops or sunroofs off.

Why was there a re-run?  Weather, attendance, or...?

P.S.  Count me out of anything where the mountain may decide to fall on me.

A rerun because everyone enjoyed it so much.

That Bridal Veil Falls is just a little pulloff where you see the car behind the bridal veil waterfall.  They closed that off  to prevent cars from driving back there when there was a possibility of danger.

The re-run sounds like a good idea.

So, the driving route doesn't require that part of the road?
