Check the neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal, too.  It could be out of adjustment or defective.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I would say, just for testing purposes, do what I did and grab a heavy gauge wire and attach it from the negative terminal and then attach it to the intake of the car to give a good ground and try to start it. Both of my Fiero's had slight to major grounding issues. I added a permenant ground to both and had not had any troubles since.

My permenant fix was to buy another ground cable from AZ and attach one end into my negative terminal and and added a loop end on the other end and attached it to a bolt on the engine that made a good ground. Works great. Car runs smoother and EVERYTHING works the way it should. :-)

Any update? Did you get your problem fixed?
Are you still around?
