Cruise canister

I have 3 cruise canisters, including one ftom TFS.  I'm looking for the port that used to have a filter on it.  Anyone know where that port was/is?

The canister didn't have a filter on it.  The filter was on a little nipple on the dump solenoid which was bolted at the passenger end of the canister.  Incidentally, the cruise canister got it's vacuum from one of the same lines that goes to the Evap Canister.

The dump solenoid, as in, the cruise control solenoid, with the bellows?  I don't recall anything other than hoses connected to the canister.

The Purge or Dump Solenoid is the piece with the orange harness plugged into it.  The small nipple at the top with the spring metal clasp is where the small barrel filter slides onto.  I only recall ever seeing 1 car that still had the filter and that was probably more than 20 years ago.  I seem to remember it was foam rubber.

If your cruise can is worn looking, what's fun is to find a can of soup or other product at the store the same size, with a paper label, and take the label off and put it on your cruise can. A real eye catcher at a car show. The only trouble is, most cans have printed-on labels these days.

I do not know how to print a label on a can, but I have a client who uses a laser to etch things into various items, such as drinking bottles.  That could be done.  Also, my wife used to use a special paper to print labels for water bottles.  Since the printer was laser, nothing was damaged by water.  The labels would adhere to the bottles quite well.

I used to buy an artificial paper made of plastic, from Transilwrap.  We printed machinery operators manuals and even Italian Submarine Manuals on it.  It was washable with soap and water and didn't tear easily. 

Here's a cruise canister I did.  It really makes the car "Get Up And Go, Fast!"
