2013 Road Atlanta Track Time Opportunities
« on: June 19, 2013, 10:58:52 am »
The following email came from Road Atlanta.  It's an opportunity for anyone who's interested to get some unpaced track time on Road Atlanta with a professional instructor.  The Proffesional Driving Xperience allows anyone to bring their vehicle, run it on the track with other cars with a professional race driver in your passenger seat.  There are no pace cars so you are at the mercy of your and your car's limits.  You are not charged until you arrive at the track and sign in.  Additionally, you get to watch all the other races that take place during the weekend.  You may email Mr. Schramm for more information.  There is a PDX opportunity for October 1.  See this link for more on PDX.    http://www.scca.com/clubracing/content.cfm?cid=44464&tag=53   (Helmet required-Available for rental at the track)

Hello all,

I hope this email finds you all well and ready to go racing at Road Atlanta! Registration for the July 12-14 event at Road Atlanta is now open (well actually it has been open for a couple days and I'm late but who's counting?). Remember, nothing is charged until after the event so go ahead and sign up!

As always we are looking for volunteers for all specialties so if you or someone you know is interested in getting involved please contact me and we can make sure they are connected with the right specialty chief. I do need some help with Race Administration as well as Paddock move in on both Thursday and Friday. If you are available please contact me and I will get you the details.

Also for this event we will have LIVE MUSIC at the Saturday night social! Should be a great time so bring your friends and family and come hang out with some fellow racers and enthusiasts!

Keep an eye out for more updates and see you at the track!

Here's a revised email from Mr. Schramm at Road Atlanta.  They've dropped the live entertainment and there will be a PDX session on the 14th.

Our July event is nearly here. Only a week and a half away! One small change, there will unfortunately not be a live band at this event. However, we will still be having our Saturday night social so come on out and share some stories, eat some snacks, and enjoy a frosty beverage with friends and fellow racers!

On the volunteer front, we are looking for some help with Paddock (Thursday afternoon and Friday), Assistant Race Chairmen (Saturday and Sunday), and PDX corner workers (Sunday during lunch/quiet time). If you are available or have a friend, family member, or crew person you would be willing press into service please contact myself or Nick Voight. Remember, volunteering gets you a $50 discount on PDX registration as well as a discount on your annual membership dues.

Also, registration closes next Monday, July 8 at 1PM so if you know anyone thinking about signing up that has not done so yet, get on 'em!

Thanks and I hope to see you at the track!
