Piddlin', pidlin', piddlin' here and there
« on: May 26, 2021, 06:07:36 pm »
My poor Fiero has a leaksie.  It oozy and dripsie.  The dripsie keep puddlin under the Fiero.  I wipe up zee dripsie wid' de ragsie, bot it never en', and keep dripsie here and there, alon' de way.  Aske de mechanic man, an' he say, "It just piddlin', piddlin' little to worry abou'.  Ze worry begin when zhou sees ze puddle.  Then zhou know ist time fer worry."

I aske de mechanic man about how to stop de leaksie.  He say, "Why stop?  If leaksie, zhou knows oil in ze pan."

I aske de mechanic man about no more leaksie.  After a bit, he say, "If no mo' leaksie, no mo' problem.  You bother someone else."

Front or back of the engine? Or transmission?

It's at the transmission side gasket.  Still trying to figure out how to fix that, without dropping the cradle.

You could always try some ATP AT-205 Re-seal. Wouldn't hurt -- might help.

Wouldn't that potentially clog the tranny?

Considering that a 4T60 has 2 and a half gallons of fluid in it (that's how much it took to fill my "new" empty one), it won't even notice 6 ounces of AT-205. And it's not a cleaner -- it won't loosen anything that might clog the transmission.

I meant clog the filter.  Whatever it does to the seals, wouldn't it do to the rest of the transmission?

The filter is not made of any rubber-like material that would be affected, except for the O-ring where it plugs into the transmission body. It's Ok if that swells.
