New clutch and flywheel. is this correct?
« on: July 07, 2018, 03:45:55 pm »
Time for a new clutch and flywheel! I was looking into stage 1 clutch options as I autocross and do mountain runs a lot. This comp clutch has better friction without having any extra pedal hardness or degraded engagement smoothness. However I cannot find it on their website. Will this clutch work if it works for an 88-91 grand am?

Getting an aluminum flywheel too, this should work aswell?

I don't know anything about the clutch that you posted. Sorry.
Try the Ram 88644HD. It's the same clutch that the Fiero Store sells.
You can buy it directly from Ram, or probably from Summit, and save a bit of money compared to the Fiero Store.

Note that the trans I installed is a 92 Cavalier HTOB Getrag (aka New Venture T-550.) This clutch is definitely the wrong part for that application. The release fingers sit too high. There's not enough room between the fingers and the release bearing.
It should work perfectly for the stock Fiero Getrag, however. Lots of info in that thread.
