Exhaust blow-out?
« on: August 13, 2018, 05:55:02 pm »
In the last few months, I have hardly driven my Fiero, but have blown out 4 gaskets in the EGR area: 2 below the mount plate, 1 above the mount plate, and now 1 between the EGR tube and the mount plate.

The exhaust itself seems to flow normally.  Even if the EGR tube was blocked, the gaskets shouldn't blow.  The bolts on the tube are tight.  These were all new gaskets.

Any ideas?

I can see the possibility of anything after the valve blowing if the valve is defective, but I don't know if that would have any effect on the gaskets below the valve.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I found the one below the mount plate was also in pieces.
