In the P22...
« on: March 06, 2019, 10:06:59 pm »
I have several fuel rails, none of which look like this drawing, or whatever this is, from the P22.

I have seen fuel rails from other vehicles that look like this.

The difference is that the Fiero V6 fuel rail has the cold start injector port on the left front corner of your image, on a machined surface that's almost 45* to the top surface.

The actual part number is 17085038.  That number may have changed at some point, but it will be identical in design.

So, I wonder where that fuel rail came from, and why it is in the Fiero book.

I don't know, but the one I have is a Rochester Product and it has MPFI stamped into it in big outline letters with Rochester Products, Made In USA underneath.

That looks like the fuel rails that I've seen. The only difference from the pic that I notice is that the port for the cold start injector is closer to the end. The end away from the fuel lines.

Just wondering, but why is the cold start injector port at an angle.  That seems to be unnecessary effort.

Possibly for clearance of it's fuel feed line underneath the upper intake manifold.

Ah.  That makes sense.
