question for the compter gurus
« on: September 03, 2019, 12:22:48 pm »
I have the hard drive from my old computer installed in a drive enclosure. How do I go about using it as a USB drive and access the files on it? When I hook it up I can see the files but don't know where to look for pics and PDF's I would like to bring over to my new laptop. Any tips?

Assuming it was in a Windows system, your documents will be at
\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents
Pictures will be at
\Users\<YourUserName>\Pictures
Or, if it was a Windows 10 system, they could be at
\Users\<YourUserName>\OneDrive\Pictures
On some Windows 10 systems, the user name is simply "me", so pictures might be at
\Users\me\OneDrive\Pictures

The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.
