Pictures from 14th Annual Run For The Hills
« on: September 20, 2009, 03:12:03 pm »

Going over the route before the run

First rest stop, at Fontanna Dam

An unusual dual throttle body setup.

Rest stop at the north end of The Dragon

The lake at the north end of The Dragon

A bumble bee resting on The Bumble Bee

Lunch at the Carolina Kitchen

It was a nice day for the run, but the next day, the rain came back.

He said that the Fiero engine runs on the rich side, and the engine tends to fall off at around 4500 RPM so he added the extra throttle body.  He made the pull cable adjustable so that he could get it to cut in at the time he wanted, instead of working full time.  Works similar to the old progressive linkage of the multiple carburetor setups of the pre-fuel injection era.  The computer would also make some corrections to richen the mixture if the engine leaned out too much.  He said there was a noticeable improvement in performance.  I believe he said that his theory was that the extra throttle body position had less restriction since it was more centrally located over the intake runners.

HMM, I wonder if some Briggs Stratton or motorcycle throttle bodies would work if you mounted one on each runner and blocked of the factory throttle body?

To see our photos on killboy.com, click on Our Store, then on You Deals Gap Photos on the 19th on the calendar, then on Cars and Trucks before 1 pm. Our photos are on pages 31-35 going up, and 48-55 coming down.
To see our photos on us129photos.com, click on Purchase Photos, then on Deal's Gap Sept. 19th, then on Fiero's. It was nice of them to put us in our own group.
