As long as air circulates in the engine bay, that is where the engine runs, mostly. If I stop for a while, it heats up after a bit. So, I could stop at a light, and think everything us OK, but then as I pull away, it heats up. If I run at highway speeds for a few miles, it cools back off. It does not go below that. The CTS shows that temp, even when the gauge reads hot.
