If you could get a block number off the engine, it would be helpful in identifying it.

Where is the block number?

Can I see it with the engine installed?

You can probably see the engine stamp in the side of the block just above the starter or on the trunk side near the flywheel end of the engine.  Use an inspection mirror or you may have to view it from underneath the car.

Like your 3.4, having the big F, and my 3.1 having a big T cast into the side of the block between the flywheel and the freeze plug, on both sides of the engine.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I'll ask the mechanic.

Or you could post a pic. One of us may recognize it.

The car is at the shop, but the kid wants to be the one to post pics.  It will be his car, so, that seems fair.

Oh.  Yeah, but had to get the inspection done for plates.  Yes, it will run into $$$.

I told the guy probably $12K to $15K to get the car where he wanted it, and it would still be an $800 car.
