What is the teal car?

My guess, it started life as a 1950-51 Studebaker Champion.

I parked opposite because we were directly across from the Corvettes.  I only partially opened the trunk so the decal was visible.  I saw quite a few visitors taking pictures of it.  A corv8owner parked next to me was very complimentary of the Fiero.

Ah.  I was making fun of someone in a white Fiero, who repeatedly did that on 11/1.

That is a 1950 Champion.  In 51 they got rid of the vents below the hood and painted the outer ring in the middle instead of chrome.  I had a 50 and a 51 in the mid 60's, both convertibles.
The 50 had an I6.  In 51 Studebaker came out with their first V8.

Yeah, before I was born.  I have less knowledge of Studebakers than of Hudsons.

I think that's a 51.  It doesn't have the 2 small openings at the bottom edge of the hood like the 50 had, according to images I see.

I was wondering why the front was so pronounced and I finally realized that the bumper had been removed.  Compared to having the bumper, it makes it look like a custom build front end.

My dad had 2 different Studebakers, both V8's and 4-doors and a neighbor had a V8.  I remember at least one of dad's had Hill Holder brakes.  Stop on a hill, put on the foot brake and it would hold the car even with the clutch depressed.  It released automatically as the clutch was released.  Even though they were heavy cars, they were right up there with GM and Ford when it came to power.
