Road Atlanta Event
« on: January 19, 2021, 02:27:33 pm »
We recived an invitation to participate in an antique and classic car show at Road Atlanta with the opportunity to take a paced tour on the track.  See the attached PDF file.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

That sounds very cool. I still worry about Covid unless they have a really sound plan in place.

Do you have to get out of your vehicle?

You probably wouldn't have to get out, but there's not many vantage points where you can park and see a lot of the track while the races are going on.

The time on the track is paced laps.  The club did that once before and the paced speed was 65 mph.  If we want to get on the track without a pace car, the Professional Driving Xperience (PDX) is the way to go.  Supposedly limited to 95 mph, but I exceeded that without any issues.  The cost is around $150 for a 40 minute on-track experience with a professional driver instructor riding side saddle.
