Want to buy 86 or 87 GT rear springs or trade.
« on: November 02, 2021, 03:19:40 pm »
I would like to buy a good pair of 86 or 87 GT rear springs, or I will trade a 14,000 mile set of rear springs and metal rings from an 88 GT.  The 88 springs are also for sale.  $50.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Charlie... What's wrong with the springs on your car?
I know we've talked about you replacing them, but how can you tell they need replacing?

I've never replaced the springs.  The car has a lean to the right.  Like it's caused by a sagging right rear.  I've replaced struts and shocks, but the car has leaned most of the time I've owned it.  Nothing is broken or bent.  Scott also thought it was in the right rear.  Shocks or struts don't support the car.  It's the springs that do that.  Might be the rubber rings, too, but I think it sags too much for being caused by the ring.

Are the springs unique on each side, or can they be swapped between left and right?

Everything I've ever read leads me to believe they are the same.
I know that the 88s have the same tags, left and right.

Chaz, do you have the rubber rings, too?  How much for the set and do you know the mileage on them?  I'm sure whatever it is, it's less than the 185K I have on mine.
