Today, as we observe Memorial Day, remember that it's not really a day for celebration. It's not for recognizing you and I, family, friends or anyone else who has served in this country's military branches. It is a day for remembering and honoring those who gave their lives in the defense of this country, the freedom and rights we enjoy, and the freedom of other countries. And that would include private citizens who contributed, too.
That is why it's called Memorial Day. To memorialize those men and women who died for our benefit.
Enjoy this day with your family and friends, but pause a moment to give thanks to those who are no longer with us. If you don't pray, just utter the words "Thank You, Lost Soldiers, For What You've Preserved For Us."
