The two years that I worked with The Fun Factory, I needed to make reservations for a given time with an idea of how many persons, and on the morning of the event, I had to call them and give them an exact number of persons who would be dining so they could have enough staff on hand.

With my novice-status at handling a manual through twisties, this run feels a little out of my depth. However Cowspatoot made a comment about wanting to drive my Fiero through it, so I might ride along.

If that pans out (and is not superseded by the conversion to EFI), then it'll be good to see you guys again!

Trinten, the videos posted were of those who wished to be a little aggressive at that time.  Everyone is expected to drive at their own comfortable pace.  We always ask those that want to test their skills to take the lead and those who prefer to take in a little more of the scenery to bring up the rear.  It isn't a race, but an opportunity for Fiero people to enjoy a weekend in the mountains and if they desire, to test their driving skills and their vehicle's handling.  We will have a Saturn SUV service vehicle following us, so you're welcome to tag along with him and others.

When I reserved my room I asked the manager why we couldn't get the rates up until 2 weeks before the event as we had in the past.  She said that the hotel is now corporate owned and their policy is 30 days prior to the reservation for blocked rooms. 

She said that if we would call back a day or two before August 16 that she would see if she could release some more rooms at our discount rate.  She also said that there were 27 rooms reserved at our rate for Sept. 14 and 15, leaving on the 16th, but she couldn't identify if they were all of our group.

I've called several times now for the manager and keep getting told she's not available, but will call me back.

They actually called us back and left a VM;
The lady on the phone said: "Sure, the GA Fiero Club can reserve more rooms, no problem."
 
I'll call the manager again on Monday and try to get a final confirmation. She is never available on the weekends.
Gotta love those kind of hours as a GM!

If you haven't ordered your event Tshirt, you need to git'er'done.  I'll be sending in the order on Sept. 1.  No shirts will be offered for sale at the event.

A NOTE FOR ANYONE PLANNING TO ARRIVE ON SATURDAY MORNING.   THE DRIVERS' MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 8AM AND WE WILL PULL OUT IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD.

IN THE PAST WE HAVE WAITED UNTIL 9AM TO PULL OUT, BUT THIS IS A FULL DAY AND IN ORDER TO BE SURE EVERYONE GETS BACK FOR THE EVENING FESTIVITIES, WE WILL NOT WAIT UNTIL 9.

EVENT ACTIVITIES AND ROUTE INFORMATION FOLDERS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON FRIDAY SO THOSE USING GPS CAN ENTER THEIR INFO AND SO THAT OTHERS CAN REVIEW IT PRIOR TO THE DRIVERS' MEETING.

EDITED TO ADD THAT THE DRIVERS' MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FUN FACTORY PARKING LOT WHICH IS LOCATED BEHIND AUTOZONE AND THE HOTEL.
