I'd like to stick with the stock tires (215/60R14); but, a new set costs about $600. A friend from church who owns a tire shop gave me the price and informed me that manufactures are discontinuing to make this stock size. So, I'd like to find some new wheels and/or tires that would fit my Indy. Any recommendations? How large of a tire/wheel can I put on the Indy that would work?

If you are not concerned about staying stock, I run 245/15s on the rear and 225/15s on the front without issues
Duchess' car runs 235/18 low profiles on all 4 corners

I've been purchasing my tires through www.tirerack.com  You may be able to find tire near that size in the Firestone Firehawk Indy 5oo series.  I run those on my Dodge truck and they're very smooth and quiet.  They're white letter, too, so the Indy designation stands out and fits with the car, very much as the original tires did. 

For a full set of tires, you can generally add about $50-60 dollars for delivery and if you choose an installer from their listing, it will cost about the same for mounting and balancing.  So, you would just add about $100-120 to the price of the tires.

i have a set of "ENKEI" wheels 17" x 7" and a set of MICHELIN "primacy mxv4" 215 x 55 x17R tires with approx 1000 miles on them. the wheels were 795.00 new and the tires were 580.00 new . i'm asking 650.00 for the complete set. send me your email address i'll send you a picture. they fit under a fiero tight but ok. look good ask anyone in the club.

18x8 up from 225/45 and 18x8.5 rear 265/35.... drag dr34s. Fronts are too tall of a profile but they were a cheap used set

Sweet! Those 18" sure fill out the wheel well nicely. Can you tell me what brand, model, and offset you have on your rims? Fronts are too tall, how? Are they rubbing when you hit bumps or when you turn?

the front tires were used kumhos... $60 for the pair.  most run 225/40 mine are taller 225/45. my aspect ratio (2nd #) is how u figure tire height 45% of the width versus the 40% most run... so it fits fine, even with 1.5 coils removed from the front 84 ws6 springs.  no rubs or hits or scrubs... however they are dimentionally taller then the rears,so the car sits a bit tall in front. look at the side shot and you will see it.  when i get new tires i will probably get 235/35.  the rear tires 265/35 sumitomos were freebies off the wifes mustang when she upgraded.




_on to the rims...i wanted them to fit even with the fender lips.  i did not want them to stick out
or sit in too far.  I calculated alot and took a guess on offset as i hated the way the common choices fit. (8 width with
35 offset)
i got the drags and they are available for the  best price at discount tire.  they are model dr-34
fronts are 18x8 in 47 offset with 8mm spacer equaling 39 offset (i wanted 40 so darn close).  went with spacer due to wanting to do a brake upgrade I'm planning in the future and i needed the space built into the wheel offest for the new hubs that came with the upgrade.

If you are interested, I've got a set of 15" rims that where on my GT. I ran 225s in the front and 245s in the rear and they really looked quite nice on a stock suspension. One rear tire is shot, so they are stored in my garage right now.
