2012 Annual Club Picnic
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:41:47 am »
As we discussed at the meeting, the suggestion had been made to have the annual picnic a bit earlier in the year as opposed to when we had it last year.

Our house, in combination with the next monthly club meeting on May 12th
Guests can arrive as early as 10 AM
BBQ Grill will be fired up by 1 PM

I'd like to start getting a list together of who will attend and bring items to picnic.

Below is an example of last year's line-up:

85GT (Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns & Baked Beans)
Fierofool +1 (Potato Salad, Home Made Chili & Watermelons)
Mr. Fiero GTB & Mrs. 70 Chevelle (Potato chips, tortilla chips & salsa, and an assortment of cut-up fruits)
AeroDonamic +1(2)?
TopNotch (Napkins, plates, cups, flatware)
GrannyLinda (Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Pickles, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Lettuce and Tomatoes, red and Vidalia Onions)
Duchess & The Don (Cajun Pasta Salad - Some type of German cake or two)
88_4mula + 1(?) (Crockpot of Mac & Cheese)

Please post here and let us know what you can bring. Anne and I will start it off:

Duchess & Donster (Cajun Pasta Salad - Some type of German cake or two)

How about if the club buys the meat?

Isn't that how we did it last year?
Did we re-imburse you and Linda?

I have no problem with that, if everyone agrees, we will have the cub purchase the meats - after we have a somewhat accurate headcount.

All agree?

Yes I did get reimbursed.
Don I think you should buy the meat since the picnic is going to be at your house.
Also you might want to have the meat on a separate receipt for the club books.

I'll pick up the meat and franks.  Once we have a headcount, I'll get enough for one burger and one dog for each person attending, plus 10%.  There's a market over this way that has very fresh meat.  Fresher than Kroger, Publix or Ingles.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

FieroFool, please note: I prefer Mesquite-grilled 100% Kobe beef burgers with a coriander and cumin rub, dressed with Vidalia onions (1/8" thick by 3.25" diameter), dill pickle chips, fresh lettuce, and Heinz http://www.amazon.com/Heinz-Limited-Edition-Ketchup-Balsamic/dp/B006ZLCN4Y/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1334691775&sr=8-19 tomato ketchup with Balsamic vinegar, on a (seedless) onion roll, accompanied by (sweet) cole slaw and haricot rouges honey/maple-baked BBQ beans.  Thank you.
