Tinted Notchie Tail Lights
« on: September 28, 2012, 12:29:05 pm »
Today, Anne was pulled over by a Gwinnett police officer at the WalMart in Buford on Hamilton Mill because of her blacked out tail lights.
No citation, just a warning.

I think we should check the DOT requirement for sight distance of both tail and brake lights.  It may also be time to put a set of new bulbs or a brighter equivalent set of bulbs in them.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Just as a warning....the NC laws are identical except that they list 500 feet rather than 300.  Seriously though...if your lights can't be seen at 500 feet, then you are asking to get hit.  I never had an issue seeing Anne's lights at RFTH...they were even clearly visible on the video I posted.

Yea, I have been messed with for my Infiniti tails and they are only covering the parimeter of the tail light. the actual lights aren't covered. Warnings don't hurt.
Usually they don't bother me. My GT's are super dark and no one has taken a second look. THey look like they were built that way from the un-trainied eye

Fiero GTB might have found the solution for the Duchess and Don
