In looking for a matching version in a smaller size, I happened upon this site that sells a shirt that looks like ours and I got worried when I saw a note under the size chart.

http://www.stellarapparel.com/store/cyclone-racing-pit-crew-shirt,Product.asp

Anyone know if the shirt Kevin is using is the cyclone seen here?  Some bad inconsistancies are noted by this vendor about the cyclone shirt manufacturer... under size chart... would not want us to start with a style we can't readily get when needed for members.  Cause its not just now, but for the future members as welll....  I know we want everything uniform!

They recommend this version, which also has a match women's version, and that got me thinking.... ok they do make a women's version.
http://www.stellarapparel.com/store/908-racing-pit-crew-shirts-downshifter,Product.asp

Surely Kevin can find a version that matches in a women's or kids version?  Did anyone ask him that specifically?

Just thought this was important to mention.  Surely she won't be the only member who will need a smaller size.  Again thinking about the future here.  We want everyone to match.  Women and men.... and I don't think folks should be forced into potato sack fitments to stay uniform or go without.

Just my 2 cents.... did not expect zero versions for the smaller in the crew.

Please someone check with Kevin to see about kids or a woman's version. And verify these are not the cyclone shirt that we might have issues getting.... or if I can get Kevins number, I will ask....  I'm sure he has contacts I can't find online....I will continue to look for a women's or kids version that matches ours though.

If he can't find something for Patty, but I do, what will it cost for embroidery?

Thank you!
Shannon

Sucess!
Found a version called "vortex" ... I'm not sure what the fabric blend was on Kevin's version to compare.
I think these are the way to go.... or I can instead get a ladies one for Patty.  I just need the embroidery cost!

RR & Tink:

Bear in mind that Kevin's is (100%?) cotton so it might very well shrink...

I'm sure Kevin would do special emboridery even if you bought a shirt somewhere else; but Pine Tree Embroidery at Gwinnett Place Mall is very reasonable, and I'm sure there are hundreds of other custom embroidery places at malls throughout the area...

I'd tell some embroidery puns, but I'd leave you in stitches!!!

Ok 100% cotton... the ones i found are not that.  They are a blend. :(

On the cotton shrinkage, if I go off the vortex chest sizes...

Ladies xs is 32-34 chest
Small is 35-38
She usually buys women's small in shirts, sometimes xs.

The men's xs is 44 chest, which is equal to women's xl.  And Kevin's start at small so 47 chest so 2xl.

Can't see the cotton shrinking 10 inches to give her a proper fit... no way a xxl to a small. I guess if the vortex looks the same maybe it can be an option for the smaller folks?  Unless Kevin's source has women's or kids?

I can't remember how the back was on Kevins... was it the same?

I say we put the shirt on her, dip her into a vat of WD-40, freeze dry her until the shirt shrinks to the proper size, then thaw her out with a blowtorch...   Whaattt....?   Why not?

Seriously, the "Pacer" jacket at your link looks good, too.  I'm not saying that we all end up looking like a marching band all in identical uniforms down to the socks, but I suppose if we made caps, jackets, etc. available on an individual basis...

How many "I'll Take One" 's do we have?  Enough to get the discount?

I will have to call the place I found and see what shipping is on Patty's depending on the $ I may have to get mine from there to make hers worth while.

Any progress in finalizing a choice of shirts and setting a price?

I'm trying to find out if Kevin will collect Paypal directly, since we don't have enough for a group discount.
If not, I will set  up a Paypal link, and I will have to charge $46.60, since I don't think the club should have to "eat" the Paypal charge on this.
Paypal is free only if it is a gift to friends or family. I'm not sure that giving a gift to a business account counts.
If someone knows more about this (for sure, not speculation), please let me know.
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Multiple 'gifts' in the same amount might put up a red flag and jeopardize our account.  Kevin could set up a paypal account and receive the monies direct.

Can we wait until after the first of the year to place our orders?  I've talked with some and with the holidays, there's not a lot of discretionalry income.  Those of us who are retired and using Medicare may be in the donut hole, like myself and having to pay full price for medications until next year's policies kick into effect.  By delaying it may also bring in enough people to get the number of people we need for the discount.  The only group thing we have going outside of the Christmas party is the Polar Bear Run on Dec. 28.
