Casting Director looking for Auto Mechanic
« on: October 18, 2013, 12:10:40 pm »
I received the following form Jamie Carroll, casting director:

Hi Pat,

I am working in conjunction with RAW, the makers of Discovery's Gold Rush and National Geographic's Locked Up Abroad, casting a new project for The History Channel.

The show will follow a renown expert in the field of automobiles as he rebuilds cars that seem to be at the end of their ride.

We are currently looking for his "co-star," which might be a local Auto Mechanic or a local Auto Shop.

Below is our casting notice; I wondered if you could spread the word to your members?

Here's a link to some of my previous work: Jamie Carroll, Casting Director

Thanks so much for your time!

Sincerely,

Jamie Carroll

The following was also attached to the email:

Casting Pilot for Major Cable Network

The show will be following a renowned automobile expert as he goes about turning
old junkers into automotive works of art.

Currently we are interested in meeting with a team who run an Auto Repair Shop or a family-owned and operated Auto Shop with some outgoing folks on board.

If your auto repair business needs a boost from the struggling economy or a fresh face to attract fresh customers, send an email to Jamie at:

Kind of sounds like an Americanized version of Wheeler Dealers, which is one of my favorite shows. I've often wished I could borrow Edd for a weekend to fix everything on my Fiero...

Raydar, do you know if Sam Memollo is coming back with another TV show?  This might have been something good for Whodeanie if things hadn't gone down the way they did for him.

Do you think Lee Arnett would be interested in this?

Even though he owned a race car team way back when, and he does all of the Fiero repair and engine swaps and he repairs other cars, he hasn't had a legal business for a long time, having worked out of his home for the last 3 or 4 years.  He's been trying to get a business up and going, so it could give him a good kick start.  Wouldn't hurt to contact him and see if he's interested.

I just e-mailed this to Sam M.

However, after seeing Jamie's bio on IMDB, I am preparing my own resume to submit.  Maybe FieroFool and AeroDon can vouch for me that not only did I invent the Fiero, I know everything about every part, nut, bolt and screw, in addition to being a certified Master Mechanic.

Ah, c'mon... I can LEARN!!!
