2.8 rear bank pcv system valve cover grommet?

Ok. so i snuck off to the parts store in between dropping my wife off at the mall and hitting a toy store to satisfy the kids.  i simply went inn to pickup a couple pcv valve cover grommets and was told that they have one shown for the fiero 2.8.  i remember from changing the valve cover gaskets that the two grommets are different, so i did a quick search on the infronet and came up with only the doorman 42062. i went ahead and eyeballed another gm grommet to try and wondered what you guys think.
i picked out doorman 42313.

I've refinished a number of sets of valve covers and always remove the grommets.  I know they're different, but I don't remember how, except that the inner diameter is of a different diameter.  You can see the difference in this link.  http://fierostore.com/Product/Browse.aspx?d=197&p=1

The PCV grommet is for the trunk side and the breather grommet is for the passenger compartment side. 

The P22 Parts list shows 10036261 as the GM part number for Crank Case Vent Valve Grommet and 10137083 as the GM part number for the Crank Case Vent Tube Grommet.  You can get them to cross reference the Dorman number to be sure you have the correct one.

If you need a copy of the Fiero P22 Parts Book, I can email a PDF file to you.  It's a 19.3 MB file and shows an exploded view of virtually every part of the Fiero, it's GM part number and a brief description.

Ok kids, here's what i dd.  I used the fiero pcv grommet 42062 and inserted 65113 dipstick tube grommet as a sleeve.  the fit was very tight...i would say perfect. The sucking sound is gone!

Is there any possibility that it could pop out while driving?  It could cause oil to blow out on the exhaust manifold.

the possibility is there, but minimized because the dipstick tube is ribbed on its exterior which mates with the interior of the pcv grommet. Because of the ribs,  you have to walk/work the sleeve into the grommet,.. then when the intake tube is inserted, i had to lube it up and when inserted, there's a positive "shump".
I'll keep my eye on it and post immediately if it pops out.

10 days later...still holding. it's dry and hasn't moved. i was thinking that i should have used tire glue to adhere the two components together.....for peace of mind. your posts made me nervous!

If it's on the trunk side where you can see it, just monitor it.  There's not a lot of oil circulating around inside the valve cover.  Mostly the system just pulls oil vapor.  Of course, it can condense into droplets as it hits colder outside air.  Buildup is where the fire problem would begin to be of concern.
