UPDATE on a few items.
No work has been done on the car since our initial get together, other than replacing a shorted oil pressure sender. We need to get this car fully roadworthy with the new wheels and tires and anything else we might find that needs to be corrected.
At the same time we work on the Warrior Project, we have the 86SE at the same location. No one is buying parts, so I suggest that if any member wants anything from it, we allow them to have it for free as a member benefit, rather than letting everything go to the crusher.
MAACO seems to be as non-responsive to helping as they are to complaints about their paint jobs. Even their corporate office doesn't answer their phone, so I've abandoned seeking their help and support.
The Disabled American Veterans office in Marietta has only provided one possible candidate and has quit responding to any other requests. I also contacted an individual with FisherHouse at Fort Gordon, referred to me by GrannyLinda. There has been no response from that individual, either. With the board and officer's approvals, I would like to offer the car to any needy DAV in a broader area of the Southeast and seek help from Pennocks members in finding someone.
