Good tips on things to cary on the run. Be also giving your brakes; tires as to at least 50% or better; How many miles on that clutch? last auto trans service? How old are those wiper blades? Shocks& struts should be in good shape also. And last but not least, is that a hale eaten hamburger under the passenger seat??  Might want to get rid of that , one smell of that on a couple of hairpin turns and you just might  lose lunch!!!

Hey, I wasn't able to get up with anyone offical about Run for the Hills 19, However I did book a room for fri. nite and plan to attend, I hope I will still be able to tag along. I did this several years ago and had a Blast! If there is anything I need to do to register please let me know. Thanks, Dan

The car is washed and prepped.  I'll have many spare parts.  I hope to head up 75 to Knoxville at about 10:00 am.   To the guy above me with 1 post.  Yes, just show up and decide which group you'll want to drive in.  I'll be in a black 88 GT.  See all of you there!

Apparently, I packed all of the wrong spare parts.  I should have packed a spare rotor, tire, and fan motor.  I'll let those involved share their sides of the story as I was just a spectator.   

I just got home at about 9:40 tonight with a whole new respect of how much my black Fiero likes to stretch her legs.  It was an exciting day to be driving a Fiero

I'm sure CowsPatoot is busy with other things at this moment, but I just learned from FireFly about this video of a portion of the run.  That's CowsPatoot driving the convertible being filmed by Darrel in pursuit.

HOLY CRAP! Did the wheel come off the hub, or did he lose the...wait, what the?  The lugs must have let go. There's too much holding the rest of it on.... :o

The hub itself broke. The axle nut was still attached to the axle, everything from there out was gone. The rotor was held in place by the caliper and it looked like someone hit with a BFH and broke the hat out of it. It could have been a whole lot worse as the hill drops off severely at the end of the guardrail. only 1 Fiero was harmed in the making of that video.

I saw the pics on FB, too. I have NEVER seen a hub fail in that manner, before this one. (Can't speak about track driven cars, however.) Usually, they just get noisy as the bearings fail.

I think we set a record for the most break-downs in a run. Besides the hub failure, we had a flat tire, the club car is stuck in third, and my fan died (and my car over-heated). But it was fun anyway, and here are some pictures...

Both videos are really great.  I think Cowspatoot did a superb job of holding that car and not letting it get away from him.  With 2 4-bangers leading the way in Cowspatoot's video and TopNotch's 4-banger video, never let it be called an Iron Puke engine.
