Princess Bride Fiero poster?
« on: January 02, 2015, 08:21:09 pm »
OK, just watched Princess Bride with my family and some friends.
Does Fred Savage have a Fiero Poster in his room?  Usually seen behind Columbo/Grandpa.
There's also a model behind Fred that may be a Fiero.

Red '88 GT 5-Speed, 7730ECM, 1.6 Rockers, and KEYLESS Entry!
Now with a trailer hitch for my bike rack.

I haven't seen the movie but a search shows it was set in olden days when the newest model of transportation was a newborn colt.  Is there a modern version?
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

The main story, which takes place in olden times, is being read to a sick kid (Fred Savage) by his Grandpa (Columbo) in 1987.  Prime Fiero time.

Not a Fiero in the poster...

And the model's not a Fiero.

The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

I blew it up to see if I could read it.  I thought it said Motorcraft on the side with a Ford logo on the back fender, but it's too grainy to tell for sure.  Some of the features do look like a Fiero, except that it has a fastback rear window.  More like a Probe.

If it where a Ford Probe, it would not be going fast enough to leave streaks, and would say "Motorcrap" on the side. Chrysler conquest may be the culprit, or a shopping cart. Both would be faster than a probe.

The model car looks like a Ferrari 308 to me. You can see the side scoop starting from the door right under the window and going back to the intake hole just behind the passenger door. Could also be a 328. The front of the toy is dark so I can see if it has the 308 front end or he 328 front end. I don't have any idea about the poster. Good movie by the way  8)
