88 duke headpipe to manifold bolts
« on: February 13, 2009, 09:09:47 pm »
Does anyone know if the headpipe to manifold bolts on an 88 duke are supposed to have springs (like most cars have)? Mine don't, and one worked loose. I was noticing the exhaust was sounding like there was a leak, and when I checked, I found the loose bolt, and found that there were no springs. I managed to tighten the bolt pretty good from the top, and when I get a chance to get under the car, I'll tighten it better. But it seems strange that there are no springs.

I have this msg. on Pennock's too, and someone just went out and looked at his car and said his has no springs. Maybe some do and some don't. I think it might be better with springs. So I'm going to see if one of those spring and bolt sets they sell on the Help pegs at auto parts stores will fit.

If you don't find any let me know and I'll bring some down with me, along with Scott's fender.
