3rd annual Hot Summer Wheels Show and Shine - July 11th.
« on: June 06, 2015, 07:06:08 pm »
It's that time again. Many of you are familiar with this event. This year, it will be held on Saturday, July 11th.
http://www.hotsummerwheels.com/

July 11, 2015 Boy Scout Troop 39 will hold their third annual Car, Truck, and Bike show at Clinton Nature Preserve.

BENEFITING BOY SCOUT TROOP 39

Registration only $20.00!

Awards for:

Best in Show
Top Cars
Top Trucks
Top Bikes
Troop 39's Pick - car/truck/bike
'39er Award
People's Choice
Many Specialty Awards
Registration Includes:

Swag Bag
Dash Plaques
Door Prize Entry
Bring the family and enjoy:

LIVE Music (There will be a different selection of bands than in previous years. )
Food and Drinks
Unique 50/50 Raffle

This has become one of my favorite car shows to attend. It's on a grassy field, and it's very laid back.
Lots of food, drinks, vendors, and interesting cars. Convenient "facilities" are provided.
Usually, they will leave us enough room to set up a pop-up canopy, or whatever.

I plan on entering two cars (if my 4.9's clutch hangs on that long.)

Here's a link to the previous show(s). Lots of pictures.

Edit - The live music, I'm told, will be a pleasant surprise. All I'm going to say. ;)

From Sandy Hoskins

The Third Annual Hot Summer Wheels Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show and Troop Trot 39 are just around the corner.  The date is July 11, 10-4, and is again at the beautiful Clinton Nature Preserve & Park.

The profits from last year's show helped provide a week of summer camp for 25 boys, 10+ two-day camping trips, repelling down mountains, learning canoeing and small sailboat use, earning various merit badges, continuing training on outdoor survival, and many other character building tasks.  The Scouts of Troop 39 received the Gold Journey to Excellence Award for 2014 and were also able to send two senior Scouts to BSA National Youth Leadership Training.  They are working hard to make this the best show ever, since we increased our Troop by 14 new Webelos Scouts in February of this year.

I am attaching a copy of the registration form for your convenience in signing up for all the fun this year.  We look forward to seeing all of you on the 11th.  If you have any questions and/or suggestions, please send a note to me and I will try to get you an answer quickly.

We appreciated your attendance last year, which helped provide the broad spectrum of challenges for all our Scouts, and look forward to another great year this year.

Yours truly,

Sandy Hoskinson
Troop 39 Committee Secretary

The attached application form she mentioned was a picture of an application form, not suitable for registration.  The actual form might be found at the link in Raydar's post.

This is less than a month away. I hope everyone can make it. This is always a good time.

Are there any plans to move the meeting out there?  If there are, it needs to get on the home page right away.

Still caring for Linda, and doing the website as I can.

Who is planning to attend the show in Douglasville and who will show up at The Galaxy Diner because they didn't know the meeting had been moved to Douglasville?  I bet there will be some calling to find out where everyone is.

Was Maria informed of the move for this month?

I'm pretty sure that I saw/heard someone tell Maria. Don't recall who it was, though.

The home page and the event calendar both show the meeting as being moved to the show, but there are no links.

I'll bring the club's little 10 x 10 canopy.  Anyone else bringing one?  BTW, I'm driving my Fiero, but not showing it.
