Has anyone seen your Fiero today?
« on: May 09, 2016, 09:16:27 pm »

This topic is meant to be a place for you to share compliments you've received on your Fiero.  Kind of the flip side of the topic: "Have you seen a Fiero today".

OK, it wasn't today, it was Saturday.  The owner of a store my wife and I were shopping at asked about my Fiero.  Business was slow so he went outside with us, sat in the car, called it a baby Lambo, and couldn't get over how nice it looked.   Gave him one of the club's cards.

My most recent incident was a couple of weeks ago when Ron and I were leaving to go down to the Madison Cruise In.  While we were sitting in the thru lane up at the end of the road, a SUV pulled up in the left turn lane.  Both guys were probably in their 30's.  The driver was stretching his neck to see out the passenger side of his truck and the passenger was hanging out gawking at the yellow 86 and the maroon 87.  I could only see the silhouette of the driver through the tinted windows, but the passenger had a huge grin on his face like he really approved of them.

Ray was always coming home telling about how people just drooled over his car everywhere but car shows.  Of course, he drove his car every day, being the only one he had so it got more exposure than the 86 and 87.

I drove the yellow 86 down to Sims Radiator today to get a new radiator for the truck.  When I came out, there were 4 service department employees surrounding it, giving it the once-over.

Outside ACE Hardware on Washington Rd.  An employee came out to see the car.  Swapped stories.  Gave him a Club Card.

A Windstream Telephone service man came by today and when he got out of the van, instead of coming to the door, he went over and gave the Fieros some close inspections.

Was out and about, testing out the exhaust system that I had cobbled together for the coupe. Stopped to fill up the tank (1/4 tank showing. Took 8 gallons.)
A guy from the water department came up and started talking. Said that he had lusted after Fieros for a long time. Didn't have any cards with me, but I gave him our website address.

Went to 5 guys for lunch.  First one there and the folks behind the counter asked what type of car I was driving.  They all thought it looked pretty good.

Went to the library afterward and a blond woman in a truck pulls up and asks if that's a Fiero.  Nice conversation followed.

Without photo evidence, it didn't happen!

Pgackerman and I tormented some corvette guys by taking up the front two parking spots at today's coffee and cars. We actually had some real good interactions, one with a guy that worked at the fiero plant when it closed, another with a guy that buys lots of cars for his hobby...he had one for sale, and another guy that was drooling and mad in love with the 80's. I advised him to be careful what you wish for....the hair might come back!  (I've since lost mine, so no need to worry ;).
A couple honorable mentions are attached.

PG!  Wow.  In my head, you looked so...different.  I had no idea!

Do the spoiler holes leak?  Is that black part of a racing stripe, or a reflection?

When Pgackerman unfurled the flag and commenced to raising it on his antennae, i wasn't expecting it and kept going on and on about how good an idea it was. He and his daughter both gave me looks like 'duh!, what else would you do with a Pontiac flag?!'.  And I guess they where right!  It was a very cool idea.
