At Tegan's school, the carpool lines up in a back parking lot. As they release the cars to pick up, someone radios the name of the student and the students line up in the hallway in order. They go outside numerically as they are called so that as 6 cars load and leave, the next 6 pull up and their child is at the proper pickup point. Today as the teacher was closing the door for Tegan, she leaned over and said "This was my hearthrob when I was in high school."
