Edit - Looks like my coupe is sold, so I'm keeping this one.

Many of you have seen this car.
I have driven it to quite a few club functions including several St. Paddy's parades.
I am now offering it for sale.

It started life as an 88 Formula.
I completed the fastback conversion about three years ago, and had a professional panel off (mostly) paint job done in Pontiac Stealth Gray.
After the paint was completed, I had the 4.9/4T60E installed at the Fiero Factory.
The chip has been modified to remove the PassKey and speed limiter, and to make the fan kick on earlier.

It has Fiero Warehouse IMSA scoops and whaletail.
FRD Gladiator wheels (Australian made. Long story.) 17x7, front. 17x8, rear.
Tires are 215/45-17 front and 245/45-17 rear.

It has earned an "Outstanding In Class" at the 2007 World Of Wheels and a "Best Of Class" at the 2008 World Of Wheels.
Those trophies will go with the car.

I have spent the last couple of years attending to the little details that make the car nicer and more reliable.
It is now to the point that I would climb in it and drive it anywhere.

It needs nothing.
The interior is in great shape. No tears in the seats.
New headliner installed when it came from the paint shop.
Has plush Fiero Store mats, glovebox, and console tray.
Also has a UP3 CD radio with EQ. (The older one with the gray knobs and the blue clock display. Looks *exactly* like the Fiero radio.)

Pics...

I've had the engine out, since Ed's folks installed it.
(It needed oil pan gaskets, a crank seal, and a water pump gasket. I also just wanted to see "what made it tick". I was quite impressed with the quality of the install.)
I know just about every bolt on the car, by name. (Some of those names are even repeatable in polite company.      :D )

The exhaust has been changed since the pics were taken. The Ocelot system that was installed was just too quiet with the 4.9.
(Ed warned me that that would be the case.  He was right.)
It now has a single 2.5" mandrel bent system with a cat and a glasspack, which empties into a single Corvette resonator exiting on the driver's side.
It sounds and flows much better.
The right side cutout in the rear bumper has been filled with a painted aluminum panel. (easily removed.)

I recently installed an Allante intake and the steel rocker supports.
I also will inlcude a set of Rodney Dickman ball joints that I purchased but haven't installed. (Didn't need them.)

Why am I selling?
I need to thin the herd.
We have too many cars and I also need a truck.

I have over $13K invested in the car.
I know that I will never recoup all of that. I will consider reasonable offers.

If you have any questions, please ask.
Post here, or email shamilton(AT)mindspring dot com

Thanks!

There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Steve,
If you don't sell it check with Grundy for insurance. I have 7 vehicles insured with them, for a total of (IIRC) $67,000 worth of stated value. It's full coverage, no deductable, unlimited mileage. Must be garage kept & not daily driven (as in no work transportation or "errands"). Costs me about $550 per year for all of them.

Thanks, Paul.
I had thought about Grundy, but I don't want to have to deal with the restrictions. I *do* want the option of driving whatever I own to work, if I want. Not that I'd do it frequently.
There are also some other insurance considerations that I don't want to have to deal with.

On another note...
Somebody called me this morning and asked me if I was getting out of Fieros.
The answer is an emphatic "no!"

I'll still have my red coupe, and plan to drive it until it falls apart.
Have some things in mind for it, actually.

So yeah... Even after the gray one sells, y'all are still stuck with me. :P

steve i haven't been on the computer for a couple of days and i can't believe my eyes especially after seeing how proud you were of that car at the last meeting. are those old photos(showing dual exhausts)? i guess sometimes you have to do what you have to do but what a shame.        oldone in c'ville

Dewey,

It's quite alright. I have plans for the red one. ;D

You're right about the dual exhausts. It used to have an ocelot system.
Unfortunately, it was waaay too quiet for the 4.9. You could barely hear it. (Ed warned me that that would be the case. He was right.)
The straight through chambered muffler that's on it now (that was obnoxiously loud on the 2.8 ) helps a bit in that regard.
I've got a dual tip Corvette resonator that I'm going to put on it. Possibly a pair of them (if I decide to go back with duals.) It should fit the flavor of the car a little bit better. The single "ricer" tip was just a stopgap, anyway.

Still for sale!

Now has a new cat. The old one decided to frag itself and choke down my exhaust system while I was at the swap meet last weekend.
Luckily, Rodney had one of his replacement cats on his trailer, and Ed had a vacant lift and a sawzall that I was able to borrow.
