St Patrick's Parade, Dublin, GA

The Dublin St. Patrick's parade will be on Saturday, March 18 this year. We (the GA Fiero Club) have been in it for the past couple of years. This is the 2nd largest St. Patrick's parade in Georgia (only Savannah is larger).
We need a solid commitment commitment soon of who is going this year as soon as possible. Your car doesn't have to be perfect -- you will be decorating it with streamers, window clings, etc. You can get these at Party City, dollar stores, etc.
So if you can be there, please reply to this thread.

I can make this one. Also, according to a Georgia state guide Dublin has the  best pizza in Georgia, a place called Deano's Italian. I suggest that we see about eating there after the parade .

What makes a vehicle not suitable for the parade?

My clearcoat is starting to peel on the top edge of the driver's door and on the roof.  I had it repainted by MAACO years ago and within 3 years, the paint started to chip off the nose and hood.  Looks like it's been bead blasted with pea gravel.  Most of that could be covered with decorations, but the clearcoat can't.  My yellow 86 looks pretty decent, except that it has a bunch of big chunks peeling off the roof, around the sunroof.  It also has a serious handling problem and I don't know the cause.  I wouldn't want to drive it the distance to Dublin.  A 140 mile one way drive. 

Dublin is a small southern town and people are very close to the parade route.  It's desirable to have cars that will be a good representation of the Fiero and club.  Prior to the parade, when we're staged, people can walk right up to the cars to look at them, too.

Ah.  Makes sense.  MAACO strikes again!

Mine wouldn't be suitable then, either.  There are some chips in the paint around the sunroof, the hood looks sortof flat, and there are some chips in the paint there, also.  And I don't know what happened to the left fender and the left rear clip above the quarter windows.  The rear bumper was cracked while parked in a parking lot.

Now I know why I keep getting decoration "donations" every year!  Y'all are trying to hide my paint job!  Just so you know, the paint's original.  That's why it's missing in spots. I didn't need Maaco to make it look like that. I call it patina......gives it character. AND, it will always be the last one stolen

I used to have a Fiero like that.  I sanded it down, filled a few spots with pink body filler.  I never painted the car.  I called it an anti-theft paint job.  I never finished that car.

That would be unique.  Let it lead the group, followed by an Indy, 85SE, 86SE, 86GT, 87 or 88 base coupe, 88 Formula, a Fastback Formula, and then a rebodied Fiero.  The banner could read "The Exciting Versatility of the Pontiac Fiero".

Yes.  Someone drove one from the Kansas City area to Chicago w/o the body panels.  They did mount side markers, other lights, and plates.  The thing is, it needs to be warm and dry to do this.  When they got to Chicago, spectators thought it had had a fire.
