A couple of Fieros For Sale
« on: June 11, 2017, 09:35:51 pm »
Raydar let us know that Darrel Hulse is offering Aerodonamic's 86SE for sale.  It has an Isuzu trans with a bad 3rd gear.  Darrel's email is wayfarinstranger74 at gmail dot com

My brother just showed me another Fiero in Winder, Ga. that's for sale.  It's an Orange 86GT.  The girl had contacted me once before about selling it, but she was hard to communicate with.  The ad is on Facebook MarketPlace.  Use Winder, Ga. as your location for search.  Supposedly only needs a throwout bearing.  Could possibly be a bad slave cylinder too.  When I spoke with her a couple of months ago, they were planning to make the repair, but she got pregnant and they had to seek a bigger vehicle.

Yes.  I think the color was called Jaguar Racing Green.

I don't know, but you could email him at the address in my first post.  Or look up Donald Hulse on Old Briar or Briarwood Trail in Douglasville.  I forget which, but it's something with Briars in it,.  i have the number but won't give it out without permission.

Any word on to whom?  Hope it's not just a speculator.

No surprise.  Of course a Fiero this nice was snatched right up.  I hope the new owner will appreciate it.  Oh, and they should start a pride of ownership thread.

It's sitting in front of the house still on the Uhaul trailer. It's been stored outside and will need quite a bit of cleaning to get it back to where it was. I gave Darrell (Dons son) my word that it will stay in the club if it's ever sold and will be shown in local car shows as a tribute to Don.

I have to sort out how to switch it to a Getrag or replace the Isuzu transmission that's in it now. Darrell said 3rd gear was gone.
It's been a long day at work and then over to Douglasvile, load it up and get it home. I'll take it to the shop in the morning.

Bless you, Man.  Ask Darrell if he still has the Getrag that Raydar believed was there.  Swapping to a Getrag is as simple as cables and slave cylinder and transmission.  Maybe one of the 86's at PAP has a manual trans?  How about it GTXVette?

I did get the Getrag that was there. Hopefully I can source decent shift cables. Rodney sells then too and probably starting out new isn't a bad idea.

Glad it went to a good home.
Yeah... Rodney's cables are the best. Hands down.
I've got a never-used Getrag throwout bearing you can have, if you need it. I won't be at the upcoming meeting, however.
If you don't replace the clutch, you'll need it. (I believe the clutch that is in it now is a LUK clutch. Don't know how worn it is.)
As Charlie said, other than the cables, the slave cylinder, and the throwout bearing, it should all be plug-n-play. All manual axles are the same.
