I think all of our older members know Robbie Finley and probably all of our newer members know who he is, but to give a little history, Robbie was in an accident 8 years ago this coming March. He was struck by a car and suffered massive physical and mental injuries, barely surviving.
Since that time, though some things have mended, he has fought a continual battle with infections in the left leg that was so badly mangled. They were able to reconstruct it enough that he could eventually walk without assistance but infections came and went. Well, they didn't entirely go away.
The infection has now gotten to the point that he has been admitted to Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He will be going into surgery soon, if it's not already in surgery. They will be removing his left leg above the knee. Plans are to later fit him with a prosthetic device.
You may have read some of his posts in this section and can see that his ability to be independent and do things like mowing and weed eating are major things for him, so this was a big decision for him to allow this, even with the severity of the infection.
Please keep him and his wife Gail in your thoughts and prayers.
