May I suggest a cruise to  Providence Canyon formerly State Park, GA near Columbus?

About 4 hours from Augusta.  We could meet up near Madison or maybe Douglasville.

Probably an over-nighter.  Next day tour the Museum of the Confederate Navy, or whatever they're calling it now.

Oooo!  I like that idea!  Along the way, the middle ga autocross folks hold solo competitions regularly around Macon and Warner robins area. Could we tie in that somehow and get more than a couple fieros there to give the miata clubs a run for their money?
Here's the link. There's one next weekend and then in March...

Not sure I've ever given an SCCA Miata a run for their money...

...But I still had a lot of fun - even with my 180.

I think a stock Fiero would still be hard pressed to give a stock Miata a run for the money.  I've heard it said that Miatas basically come track ready from the showroom floor.  Steve can probably confirm or dispell that.

3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Over at GRM the Miata is Called 'The Answer'  And there are a hundred 'Flavors" From Stock to HI Horse Monsters. The things do handle well from the Get Go But they are 20 years of Knowledge Newer, Still don't want one ! My Fiero will Answer a Few of them.

In my case I don't blame the Fiero, I blame the driver.

OH!  You meant 180° rotation, not 180 HP.😉

A Miata is probably the best "driver's car" I've ever driven - and I've never even driven a modded one.
Several magazines have placed the Miata at #1 or #2, over the years, in "Best Driver's Car" competitions. It's always in the top three. Up there with the Porsches and newer Corvettes.
Any Fiero (other than a full-on race car) would have to be tweaked to a fare-thee-well to even be close to a Miata. Just the truth of the matter.
But I don't care. I still find my Fiero more fun to drive.  :D We sold the '97 Miata.

I fit in a Fiero.  Never sat comfortably in a Miata.

Went to an SCCA event where about 30% of the cars were Mazdas, and of those 80% were Miatas.  Best driver I saw that day took his Miata through the course in a controlled skid.  Amazing.

I hope to see at least 3 and maybe 5 Fiero's this year at the Challenge, I have a Personal Challenge from Michael Crawford from North Carolina (dusterbd13)  They brought the AMC Hornet This Past year,  but his Miata will have a Later model V6 GM engine and He is doing a Build with Photos on GRM,
It's a Family Build with his Father Involved, They aren't Beginners and I will need my "A" Game. And Man Do they have a Nice Shop to work In. You Know Lights and Heat and Lift's and Concrete Floors Stuff I dream Of.
